NCCR Automation connects control, power systems and data, turning interdisciplinary ideas into real-world impact.
Claudia Valero De la Flor is a PhD student at the Power Systems Laboratory (Prof. Gabriela Hug) and the Automatic Control Laboratory (Prof. Florian Dörfler) at ETH Zürich. She holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zürich and a BSc from Comillas-ICAI (Madrid), with an academic exchange at Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). Her research focuses on rethinking frequency control for inverter-dominated power systems, where increasing amounts of distributed and renewable generation challenge the limits of the classical three-level control hierarchy. In particular, she explores new ways to characterize reserve needs and coordinate resources across different time scales in real-time operation.
