Working within NCCR Automation provides a fantastic opportunity to engage with researchers who have diverse focuses yet share a common goal. The interdisciplinary environment has the potential to ignite unexpected sparks, making it an enriching experience.

Yan Wu is a PhD student in the Computer Vision and Learning Group at ETH Zurich, supervised by Prof. Siyu Tang. Before that, she received the bachelor degree in Automation Engineering from Tongji University and The University of Bologna in 2018, and master degree in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering from  ETH Zurich in 2021. Her current research interest is to build statistical models to understand and synthesise human motions, with the potential to adapt the application to the robotics field by learning human-like policy through the observation of human behavior.
