REAL – the Research Explanation and Application Laboratory

Research: Swiss universities are world-renowned for ground-breaking research. At NCCR Automation we are proud to add to this reputation in the field of automation. REAL is here to take research a step further.

Explanation: To maximize the impact of our research it is essential to explain and communicate it to people from other fields in a clear and engaging manner. REAL helps students and researchers develop excellent presentation skills.

Application: The exchange with people from other fields – in research or industry – helps to identify novel, exciting and meaningful application areas for our research. At REAL, master students can pursue promising application ideas from proof-of-concept to industrial collaborations, start-ups or open science projects.

Laboratory: Working together with motivated, likeminded, diverse people creates a unique atmosphere that makes the project work fun and inspiring. At REAL students working on their master's projects share a creative space that fosters collaboration and innovation.
