Mina Montazeri is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Urban Energy Systems Lab at Empa. She earned her Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran and further enhanced her expertise as a visiting Ph.D. student at EPFL’s IMOS lab and during a collaboration with Politecnico di Milano. Her research lies at the intersection of deep reinforcement learning, game theory, and mechanism design—with applications spanning smart buildings, smart grids, and the Internet of Things. She is passionate about bridging theoretical AI advances with real-world energy applications, exploring novel ways to optimize building climate control systems, and improve urban energy efficiency.
