Participants

Together with our partners, Mint&Pepper, we have developed a 1.5 hour workshop for children and young people at Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools (Sonderschule). During the workshop participants use the Thymio robot to design movements and sequences to make a drawing, and in doing so learn the basics of what robots are and how they work.

The workshop is designed to be an inclusive environment that takes into account the learning environments unique to SEN Schools and use METACOM symbols to visually support the learning process.

Teacher Madlaina Kerst, who has run the workshop as part of her teaching programme said:

"You put together a great workshop in which the pupils were able to actively participate. They were enthusiastic and kept talking about it and asking if we could now have a Thymio too, or if you would come back again... I would definitely do another workshop with you."

If you are a teacher at a Sonderschule in Switzerland, please get in contact to see if your class could be a part of the development phase. We would bring the workshop to you, and ask for your feedback afterwards.
