Automatic Control offers an unparalleled blend of theory and practice, making NCCR Automation a home for engineers and mathematicians alike.
Jakob Nylöf is a PhD student at the Automatic Control Laboratory at EPFL under the supervision of Professor Giancarlo Ferrari Trecate. He received the M.Sc. in Mathematics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2024 and the B.Sc. in Engineering Physics in 2021 from the same institution. During his studies, he was a summer researcher in control theory at KTH and the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. His research interests lies in the intersection of control theory, stochastic programming and robust optimization, with a key interest in the respective mathematical foundations of these fields. His PhD project is centered around distributionally robust optimal control.
