Julien is a Doctoral Assistant in the Automatic Control Laboratory at EPFL under the supervision of Prof. Giancarlo Ferrari Trecate. Prior to his arrival in Lausanne, he was as a visiting researcher in the School of Engineering of the Australian National University. He earned his M.A.Sc. and B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal (University of Montreal) while he was simultaneously an affiliated student researcher at GERAD and Mila. His research focuses on trustworthy machine learning, stochastic optimization, and reliable control. He draws particular motivation from applications in high-stakes environments such as the energy sector.
