Lukas Looser

I am a PhD student in Operations Research and Data Science at EPFL under the supervision of Dr. Yifan Hu and Professor Daniel Kuhn. I received my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from ETH Zürich, where I specialized in statistics and empirical process theory, including a semester abroad at HKUST. After my studies, I interned as a data scientist at various companies, working on projects in forecasting and credit risk. My research interests lie at the intersection of robust optimization and statistical learning, with a strong focus on theoretical guarantees and real-world relevance. Outside academia, I am passionate about sailing and cycling.
