Automation and digitisation are key elements in a transition towards a sustainable and resilient energy system

Vasco Medici is Professor for Intelligent Energy Systems at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), where he currently leads the energy systems sector at the Institute for Sustainability Applied to the Built Environment (ISAAC). He previously co-founded two startups: Scitracks, a spinoff of ETH Zurich and Hive Power, a spinoff of SUPSI, in which today he has the role of R&D Director. He holds a PhD from ETH Zurich and a master in micro-engineering from EPFL. His expertise is in smart grid analysis, digitization of energy systems and their optimization through machine learning techniques.
