Dr.
Catalin Arghir Scheifele
Senior Scientist
My ultimate goal is to devise a geometric control framework that is able to enhance the intelligibility of machine learning and of complex systems.

Catalin Arghir is a Postdoctoral researcher advised by Silvia Mastellone in a joint project between FHNW and ABB Switzerland, and part of NCCR Automation technology transfer. His focus is on system-level aspects of power conversion control.

He obtained his PhD degree from the Automatic Control Laboratory at ETH Zürich, under the supervision of Florian Dörfler, where he worked on stability analysis of converter-based power systems.

Catalin received his Master's degree from the University of Toronto, under the guidance of Manfredi Maggiore, where he studied nonlinear control for robotic locomotion. Apart of academia, he has held various industry positions in the fields of electronics manufacturing and aerospace.
