As part of the #NCCRWomen campaign, five of the NCCR Automation Women introduced their research to show young people of high school or undergraduate age who they are, what they do and why they do it.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of women obtaining the right to vote in Switzerland, all NCCRs have joined forces to introduce you to some women working in Swiss research institutes.

From International Women’s Day on 8 March until 31 October 2021 – the 50th anniversary of the first women’s vote in Switzerland, the NCCR women will show young people of high school or undergraduate age who they are, what they do and why they do it, in a series of 60-second videos.

From April 12th until April 16th 2021, five of the NCCR Automation Women introduced you to their research.

Meet Mahsa Rahimi-Siegrist, a computer engineer and PhD student working in a NCCR Automation group at ETH Zurich. 

Mahsa simulates the behaviour of passengers to improve the information strategies on the public transport network and improve the quality of transport services.

Meet Mahrokh Ghoddousi Boroujeni, an electrical engineer and PhD student working in a NCCR Automation group at EPFL.

Mahrokh uses mathematical tools and data analysis for controlling the operation of the electricity grid.

Meet Gabriela Hug, an electrical engineer and professor in electric power systems working in the NCCR Automation at ETH Zurich.

Gabriela uses mathematical models and methods to integrate more renewable energies into the electrical grid.

Meet Pengbo Zhu, a control engineer and PhD student working in a NCCR Automation group at EPFL.

Pengbo develops intelligent systems that improve the rebalance of shared vehicles' spatial distribution.
