Andrea Gattiglio

Andrea Gattiglio is a PhD at the Urban Energy Systems Laboratory at Empa and at the Automatic Control Lab at EPF Lausanne. He is supervised by Dr. Hanmin Cai and Philipp Heer in collaboration with Prof. Colin Jones. He holds an M.Sc. in Robotics, Systems and Control from ETH Zürich and a B.Sc. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy. His research focuses on data-driven predictive control and holistic building automation. His broader interests include energy efficiency, sustainable control strategies, and the integration of data-driven methods for smarter and more resilient built environments. Outside of research, Andrea enjoys cooking and experimenting with different cuisines, traveling, attending opera and ballet performances, and loves the Eurovision Song Contest.
