NCCR Automation Fellowship FAQ

- When will I receive a notification of whether I receive the fellowship? The results of the NCCR Automation Fellowship will be released in ,id-December 2023.
- How do I apply? You must apply using the application platform. Please have a look at the guidelines. Also check the requirements of the institution you aim for:
- Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA)
- École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)
- Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH Zurich)
- University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW)
- University of Basel
- University of Zurich (UZH)
- University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI)
- How much monetary support does the program provide? The program provides up to CHF 3’000/month and CHF 20’000 in total per fellowship recipient.
- Which costs are eligible? Eligible are up to 20’000 CHF, including:
- Increased living costs (in comparison to the country of origin),
- child support, if applicable,
- travel with 1 return ticket in economy class.
- Which costs are not eligible?
- Visa application related,
- Materials of enduring value (e.g. laptops, printers, powerbanks, books, …)
- Subscription of journals,
- Stationary memberships,
- Postal charges,
- Email/internet,
- Fax and phone charges,
- Photocopies within host institution.
- Does it include support with Visa application procedures? No, the VISA application process is an obligation of the individual, but research labs may provide support in this regard.
- I missed the main application window. Can I still apply? No. We do not accept applications out of the main application window.
